Midnights is Taylor Swift’s tenth studio album, released on October 21, 2022, through Republic Records. The record marks a return to pop after her folk-inspired albums Folklore and Evermore, blending synth-pop, electropop, and dream-pop with sleek production and introspective songwriting.
Produced mainly by Jack Antonoff, the album features shimmering synths, layered vocals, and a late-night atmosphere. Standout tracks include “Anti-Hero,” a brutally honest self-portrait that became a No. 1 hit, “Lavender Haze,” which opens the album with dreamy allure, and “Bejeweled,” an anthem of confidence and self-reinvention. The 3 AM Edition adds seven more tracks, deepening its emotional range.
Critically, Midnights received widespread acclaim for its lyrical maturity, sonic cohesion, and intimate tone. It became a commercial phenomenon, breaking streaming records and debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while all 13 songs simultaneously entered the top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100.
